I don't like those 100 and 50/50... I guess they are percentages, but it's not clear. A novice may be lead to think that they are pixels or something else. I preferred the visual representation of the columns from the previous update.

I agree with mmc. The templates are mostly for beginners, and for them the visual representation is much easier. By the way, I love the possibility to include dummy content.
