A call to localizers
12:03 - By BlueGriffon - Announcements - one comment
As promised, it's now time to start localizing BlueGriffon. I've just set up everything we need to include selected locales into BlueGriffon bundles. If you want to translate BlueGriffon into your own language, here are the steps to follow:
- get yourself an account at http://bugzilla.bluegriffon.org
- File a bug titled "XX-XX locale" where XX-XX is the requested locale (for instance pt-BR) in product BlueGriffon, component Localization
- Assign the bug to yourself and Cc me (daniel AT glazman ORG)
- get a copy of the BlueGriffon L10N repository
svn checkout http://sources.disruptive-innovations.com/bluegriffon-l10n/trunk bluegriffon-locales
- then type the following commands:
cd bluegriffon-locales
cp -R en-US XX-XX
for i in en-US/*.mn; do sed -e "s/en-US/XX-XX/g" $i > XX-XX/`basename $i`; done
cd XX-XX
find . -name \*.svn -exec rm -fr {} \; - translate all the strings in all
*.dtdand*.properties filesin your XX-XX directory; MANDATORY: please use UTF-8 encoding for the files ! - add your new directory to svn:
svn add XX-XX - do NOT add your new locale to
Makefile.in, I'll do that myself if your locale is stable enough to be enabled by default. - make a patch, for instance typing
svn diff XX-XX > /tmp/XX-XX.patch - attach that patch to the bug and ask me to review it (daniel AT glazman ORG) in the bug
- you'll get write access to the repository after a positive review.
- please subscribe to http://groups.google.com/group/bluegriffon/ , changes in L10N will be announced there starting today

Mac builds...
21:40 - By BlueGriffon - Announcements
I have too many stability issues with the universal 32/64bits builds of BlueGriffon despite of using the "official" way of building them. They're too often crashing on Mac OS 10.5 32bits and I have no idea why. I'll investigate but in the meantime, I'm releasing again two builds, one for Mac OS 10.5 32bits and another one Mac OS 10.6 64bits. You'll find them here. Let me know in a comment below if you have problems with them.

A call to dictionary authors
16:16 - By BlueGriffon - Community - 2 comments
We have a lot of dictionaries available on addons.mozilla.org and BlueGriffon can use them. So if you could just add the following to your dictionary's install.rdf, that would help BlueGriffon users a lot:
<em:targetApplication>
<Description>
<!-- BlueGriffon -->
<em:id>bluegriffon@disruptive-innovations.com</em:id>
<em:minVersion>0.8</em:minVersion>
<em:maxVersion>1.0</em:maxVersion>
</Description>
</em:targetApplication>
Please let us know adding a comment to this blog entry! Thanks a lot !

Source view bug
09:58 - By BlueGriffon - Progress
If you create a new document in BlueGriffon, it creates a new nsHTMLEditor and a new iframe with a Bespin/Skywriter instance. If the latter is not fully instantiated yet when you click on the "Source" button, it triggers a JS error and the source view becomes unreachable. I'm working on it, stay tuned.

Unicode
15:37 - By BlueGriffon - Progress
If Mac OS X has a quite cool builtin dialog to insert unicode chars in any window, that's not the case for Windows and Linux. The Char Insertion dialog in Nvu/KompoZer being an oooooold thing, I revamped it entirely and checked the new code in a few minutes ago (rev. 468). See the result below (click to enlarge).
BTW, it works with both the wysiwyg and the source view.
